KPop Demon Hunters in Seoul: What You Can Visit, What's Over, and the Pin That Sold Out in 20 Minutes

You do not need to have seen the film. The setup is a K-pop girl group that performs on stage by day and hunts demons at night, with Seoul as the backdrop. What matters for a trip is that it has become a reason to travel. So this is a map of what you can actually visit, what has already ended, and what to buy or avoid (as of September 30, 2026).
- It's animated, so there are no "filming locations." Seoul's official tourism site links Naksan Park (about 624 m from Hyehwa Station, Exit 2), N Seoul Tower, Myeong-dong and COEX K-POP Square to scenes in the film.
- Where to buy: the MU:DS shop at the National Museum of Korea (Ichon Station, West Building 1F). Its Kkachi-Tiger pin sold out in 20 minutes in July 2025, and all 17,900 online preorders vanished within 20 minutes as well.
- Be careful: much of the film-themed merchandise reported in Myeong-dong in October 2025 was unofficial and unlicensed.
- Already over: the Seongsu official pop-up (Dec 4–28, 2025) and The Hyundai Seoul pop-up (May 21–June 3, 2026). We found no new Seoul pop-up.
- Sequel: Netflix confirmed one in March 2026, with no release date.
- Verdict: Naksan and Namsan are good Seoul stops even if you never press play. Don't fly in for a pin.
Do you need to know the film to enjoy the Seoul trail?
No. Naksan Park (낙산공원) and N Seoul Tower (N서울타워) earn their place on a Seoul itinerary without it. The film just gives you one more reason to go. Spoilers stop at the premise: a group on stage, demons after dark, and two characters, a tiger and a magpie, borrowed from Korean folk painting.
Which Seoul places are tied to the film?
Seoul's official tourism site (edited August 2025) and the Korea Tourism Organization's guide link the places below to scenes in the film. That means backdrops and references, not places where an animated film was shot.

Where should you buy the merch?
The most reliable place is the MU:DS shop at the National Museum of Korea (국립중앙박물관). The Korea Tourism Organization notes that folk paintings of a tiger and a magpie (작호도) inspired the film's Derpy and Sussie characters. That link made the Kkachi-Tiger pin the star product: on July 11, 2025 it sold out in the shop in 20 minutes, and all 17,900 online preorders went within 20 minutes of the 10 a.m. launch (Korea Times, July 19, 2025). In 2025, MU:DS sales reached about ₩41.3 billion, 1.9 times 2024. The pin sold around 90,000 units, and the museum drew a record 6.5 million visitors (fnnews, January 13, 2026).
There are three points of sale inside the museum, per its official page: Shop 1 in the West Building, 1st floor, next to the Main Hall; Shop 2 in the Permanent Exhibition Hall, 1st floor center; and the MU:DS brand showroom on the 3rd floor center, which closes 12:00–1:00 p.m. The shops keep the museum's hours: 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and 9:30 a.m.–9:00 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday. They close on January 1, Lunar New Year, Chuseok and the first Monday of March, June, September and December (official visitor information). Permanent exhibitions are free, and Ichon Station (이촌역) Exit 2 connects underground. An English-language online store, muds.kr, lists international shipping, though some items show as sold out.
Myeong-dong tells a different story. In October 2025, Seoul Shinmun reported unofficial film merchandise, from Derpy keychains to character photocards, sold across the district. It noted that the missing Netflix logo and low prices were the giveaways, and that official goods were available through very limited channels. That same month, Seoul Customs referred a seller to prosecutors over roughly 30,000 counterfeit items worth about ₩1.4 billion, imported from Chinese online retailers and lacking children's-product safety certification. If a price looks far below what official items cost, assume it may not be official. Suspicious goods can be reported to the Korea Customs Service hotline at 125.

Is an official pop-up still open?
No. Both official pop-ups in Seoul have ended: Seongsu-dong ran December 4–28, 2025, and The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido ran May 21–June 3, 2026. They sold plush dolls, keyrings, apparel and photocard items, and the Hyundai pop-up required advance booking on Naver. Reports say the anniversary pop-up tour moved on from June to Daegu and other Asian cities. We could not find a permanent official store in Seoul, or a new Seoul pop-up for September or October. When does the sequel arrive?
Netflix officially confirmed a sequel on March 12, 2026, with the original directors returning. Plot and release window were not disclosed. Bloomberg had reported a 2029 target, and Sony executives were reported to suggest the wait could be longer. Plan your Seoul trip around what you can visit now, not around a new film.
How would you build a day around it?
Naksan Park and N Seoul Tower make a wall-and-views day, and the museum is your indoor stop. It stays open until 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which suits an evening visit. If a pin is the goal, plan to arrive before opening; if you miss it, the museum is worth the trip on its own (see our museums and galleries guide).
